Capture The Flagg

That was too easy, but I couldn’t resist. Cooper Flagg to be drafted by the Mavericks.

Wow.


A couple of weeks ago I was discussing the future of the Dallas Mavericks with my wife. I was convinced that the franchise was irreparably damaged. There was no way to recover the enthusiasm of the fan base after trading away their superstar and having little to show for it. No real chance of having a competitive team any time soon and looking forward to the prospects of rebuilding from the bottom. I said the only possible thing that could give them hope would be if they overcame their 1.8% odds and drew the #1 lottery pick to draft a new superstar. Then it happened.


Cooper Flagg is going to be a Maverick. There is light at the end of the Dallas tunnel. Unless Nico decides to trade him for Joel Embiid. Or LeBron and Bronny James.


With Flagg joining other Duke alumni Kyrie Irving and Derek Lively, the Mavericks may become the Dallas Blue Devils. Move over Reunion Rowdies - make room for the Cameron Crazies.


There will still be other decisions to make as the team is built around a new superstar. If Dallas decides to keep Nico Harris as GM they better take steps to keep him away from the LA Laker GM!

I do agree that it will win a NEW fan base by adding Flagg to the roster....Lets just hope that they don't let Nico mess this up. Even with this possible, incredible addition, the franchise will have a long ways to go to earn back the trust of us OG fans. but nevertheless, as long as we never have LeBum on the mavs, I will remain a #MFFL
