For the first time in many years the Mavericks didn’t have any representatives on the NBA All-Star game roster. In order to remedy that oversight they traded for Anthony Davis. That’s not really why they made last night’s shocking trade, but I sure would like to know what reasoning went into the decision to part ways with Luka Doncic. Did they feel like they wouldn’t be able to sign him to his next trillion dollar contract? Was there an underlying dispute that has been kept out of the news? Or has Jerry Jones secretly bought the Mavericks and is serving as their General Manager?
When the Texas Rangers won the World Series, beloved radio announcer Eric Nadel said “Ranger fans you’re not dreaming!!” Today many Maverick fans wish they were only dreaming.
It is no secret that the Dallas ownership group is pushing for legalization of gambling in Texas, and they would like for the team to play in a sparkling new complex including a casino and resort. With this trade, management has made a huge wager. Time will tell whether they have won the bet or totally missed the mark.
Speaking of marks, don’t you wonder what former owner Mark Cuban thinks about the team going all in on this move? He has been strangely silent so far. Basketball enthusiasts will not be.

I'm sick, that is a solid question as far as freeing up a large amount of funding, the hardest part for me at this turn of events is , how am I going to cheer for a team with Anthony "the brow" Davis ! Sad day as a mavericks fan!
