On a night when Kyrie and Klay (the K klub) combined to only hit 4 of 19 shots, and the team had 25 turnovers and 14 missed free throws, the Dallas Mavericks somehow won a game in which they were behind by 15 points in the fourth quarter. They did it with grit and determination fueling a furious comeback in the last 3 minutes. This win keeps them alive for the Emirates Cup competition, I would rather have a Stanley Cup, but I wouldn’t mind the $500,000 prize per player that goes with it. Maybe that’s not a huge deal to the stars making tens of millions, but it’s life changing money for the role players and guys on a split contract.

More significantly in the long range view for the season, Dallas is showing signs of being the best team in the Wester Conference with their depth, three future hall-of-famers, and a two-headed beast manning the post. They are 9-1 in their last 10 games, including a 5-1 stretch when Luka was out with injuries. This allowed the rest of the team to step up and contribute as they develop their teamwork and chemistry.

Don’t be one of the empty wagons rattling that the Mavs are better off without Luka. That is nonsense. He is a generational offensive talent but has not been on a team this talented and deep before. There will be bumps and slumps to overcome, and the inevitable injuries to get past, but this team is exciting. They have a roster that could win it all.

That’s one man’s opinion - what’s yours?

It is insane to me the amount of people that do not realize how good Luka is! We have a very deep team and finally the big men that we have lacked over the last many seasons. The talk of trading Luka, or the "Mavs are better without him" crowd that has been circulating around social media and the less educated sports enthusiast on the tv is mind blowing to me. Its crazy how easy it is to forget where the Mavs were just 6 short years ago before we got Luka in 2018. In a world where people have forgotten that there are 2 genders, and pro nouns are out of control, I guess it should not be that surprising that people are convincing themselves that the Dallas Mavericks would be better off without one of the greatest generational talents the league has seen. Please get it together Mavs fans.... Just this mans opinion...
