That’s what some people were calling the Mustangs when they were included in the 12 team college football playoff. And they did get blown out by Penn State. But if you were picking the twelve most deserving teams who would you have included instead of SMU? Some suggested Alabama, who demonstrated their unworthiness by losing their bowl game matchup to a 4 loss Michigan team.

The point is it is very subjective to select the most fitting teams for the tournament, so you play the games and let the good times roll. Except for the Texas overtime win over Arizona State every game has been one-sided. Many have complained that the bye week hurt the top 4 seeds, who all lost, but the problem wasn’t with the bye, it was the screwy seeding. When it’s all said and done, the champion may not be the season’s best team; it will be the team who won the tournament. Personally, I love the chaos and controversy. It gives sports fans something else to argue about!

So who do you think will be the last team standing? I will predict Ohio State over Penn State, but I would prefer for both teams to be eliminated by Texas and Notre Dame. Watch and enjoy!
