We’ll start by giving you the answer to our last trivia question: Who are the four #1 draft picks in MLB who are currently in the Hall of Fame? Answer: Ken Griffey Jr, Chipper Jones, Joe Mauer, and Harold Baines. Yeah, I know, one name doesn’t seem to belong, but I’m already on record as saying Baines wasn’t a Hall of Famer.
The Lane Kiffin story goes on. And on and on… The ups and downs of his coaching career are fascinating. His latest move is to accept his “dream job” of coaching the LSU football team. Good for him, but then he expected to be able to coach Ole Miss in the upcoming playoffs. That request was denied. That would be like a boy breaking up with his girlfriend to date someone else but expecting to go ahead and take the first girl to the prom for old time’s sake. Wouldn’t you like to hear the boos when Kiffin takes his Tigers to Oxford the next time?
Do you have mixed emotions when you watch the Cowboys or the Mavericks? I do. I like the Cowboys and several of their players, but it is hard to pull for a team controlled by Jerry Jones. If they actually got on a roll and got to the playoffs, Jerry would self-anoint himself as the greatest mind in the history of the game. I don’t expect that to happen, but due to the parity (or mediocrity) in the NFL, “you’re tellin’ me there’s a chance”. And as far as the Mavericks are concerned, it will take a while to get over the trade and the “Curse of the Great Sloveno” (R) but it will be fun to watch Cooper Flagg’s career. Sure glad Nico didn’t trade him!
Aaron Rodgers and Alex Rodriguez have more in common than just the Arod nickname. They are both polarizing figures who had great careers. They each have extremely high opinions of themselves and will do anything to remain in the limelight. They won’t seem to go away and I’m tired of hearing about them. If you hear about an up and coming superstar named Andy Roderick, please don’t call him Arod!
My favorite Christmas movie is “A Christmas Story”. Ralphie and his quest for the Red Ryder BB rifle, the fragile lamp, the flagpole, the Bumpasses, and the pink bunny suit are classic. I know that doesn’t have anything to do with sports, but it is a segue into your trivia question. My two favorite baseball movies are “Field of Dreams” and “Sandlot”.
The question: What actor appeared in both movies?
That’s one man’s opinion - what’s yours?
